What to do in a live run
- 01Step 1
Name a job for the next run
Decide whether you are covering an interaction, using a firearm or supporting teammates. Write that job in one sentence before choosing a Responder; the useful skill is the one you expect to use during the mission.
Field advice - 02Step 2
Read the skill on the selected Responder
Read the current tooltip and match it to the job. If you changed Responders, check that the selected character and skill are the ones you intended; 1.1 includes a fix for skill application after this switch.
Official notes + field adviceS4 - 03Step 3
Upgrade a skill you already use
If a skill serves the role you repeatedly play, compare its displayed Expert effect with the next loadout you need. An upgrade is a clearer investment than rerolling a useful skill without a replacement goal.
Field advice - 04Step 4
Set a stopping budget before rerolling
Check the live cost, name what would make a replacement useful and set the maximum Credits you will spend. Keep enough for the equipment you plan to take next. The Armageddon reroll action commits the spend; do not use it as a free preview.
Official notes + field adviceS2
Brief 01
Build around a repeated job, not a universal tier list
A reload-oriented choice only helps a run where you actually use that firearm category; a team-healing role needs a plan to support allies. Keep the same learning goal across several runs so you can judge whether the skill gets used. The reference cards below distinguish officially named categories from documented effects.
Brief 02
Expert upgrade or reroll?
Upgrade when the existing skill fits a role you intend to keep. Consider a reroll when that role has changed or the skill no longer supports it. The economy preview announced cheaper rerolling for 1.0, but a historical cost change is not a reason to spend blindly: read the live charge and leave a next-run gear budget.
Brief 03
Recognise which old build advice changed in 1.0
Armageddon adds Handgun, Rifle and Shotgun Reloading to the pool and removes Averaging, Guts and Teddy Bear. If an old build depends on one of the removed skills, rebuild around its intended job rather than searching for the old name. Keep the replacement tied to the weapon or support task you actually use.
Before commitment
Run checklist
- Choose a job before choosing a Responder.
- Read the current normal and Expert tooltips.
- Reserve next-run loadout Credits.
- Set a reroll spending limit before confirming.

| Your skill supports a repeated team role | Compare the Expert upgrade with your next equipment purchase | You keep a useful skill and invest in a role you already practise.S1 |
| Your role or weapon category has changed | Read the new role’s tooltip options before rerolling | A replacement goal gives you a stopping condition instead of repeated blind spending.S2 |
| You cannot afford the next loadout after a reroll | Keep the current skill and postpone the reroll | The reroll cannot be cancelled or refunded; protect the next-run budget.S2 |
FAQ / practical answers
Questions players ask before the next run
How do I upgrade a skill to Expert?
The official welcome guide says Credits can be invested into Expert skill upgrades after successful runs. Check the selected skill’s current upgrade requirements and displayed effect before spending, then compare the purchase with the gear your next run needs.S1
Can I cancel a skill reroll and get Credits back?
No. Armageddon explicitly removes the Cancel button because a skill reroll cannot be cancelled or refunded. Read the cost and set your spending limit before confirming.S2
What should I do before rerolling a useful skill?
Name the job that needs a different skill and the kind of replacement that would help. If the current skill already supports your regular role, compare an Expert upgrade first. Keep next-run gear Credits separate from the reroll budget.
Which reload skills were added in Armageddon?
Handgun Reloading, Rifle Reloading and Shotgun Reloading were added to the pool. Match the named weapon category to your intended firearm role, then read the current tooltip before choosing an upgrade.S2
Was skill application after switching Responders fixed?
Resupply 1.1 lists a fix for perks not applying correctly after switching Responders. If you still encounter it, record the platform, build, selected skill and switching sequence so the report can be compared with that specific fix.S4
