Official effects / editorial choices
Choose the benefit your gun needs
Family and variant labels come from Resupply 1.1; the final column applies them to a shooting role. Check individual mounting options in-game.S1
| Family | Official variants | Published effect | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Muzzle Brake | Small / Rifle | Strong recoil reduction | Prioritise when keeping follow-up shots controlled is your main problem. |
| Compensator | Pistol / Rifle | Slightly reduces recoil and hip-fire spread | Consider when you alternate aimed fire and hip-fire rather than solving only one issue. |
| Laser Sight | Micro / Large | Strong hip-fire spread reduction | Prioritise for a hip-fire role; compare the mounting option shown on your gun. |
| Shotgun Choke | Shotgun attachment family | Improves medium-range lethality | Consider for shotgun engagements at medium range; keep ammo and safe spacing in the plan. |

Know the constraints before you commit
- Resupply additions
- Four attachment families
- Recoil-focused option
- Muzzle Brake
- Mixed shooting styles
- Compensator
- Medium-range shotgun use
- Shotgun Choke
The 1.1 release expands muzzle, barrel and side modifications; it builds on attachments already discussed in Revelation.
S1S3Official variants are labelled Small and Rifle. These category names are not a per-gun compatibility list.
S1Pistol and Rifle variants have a smaller combined benefit to recoil and hip-fire spread.
S1The published benefit is better medium-range lethality; choose it for that job rather than assuming a guaranteed one-shot distance.

What to do in a live run
- 01Step 1
Identify the shooting problem first
Ask whether your missed shots come from hip-fire spread, recoil during follow-ups or using a shotgun beyond comfortable close range. Pick the family that addresses that problem before collecting every attachment you see.
Field advice - 02Step 2
Check the gun and the current control prompt
Use the attachment controls displayed in your current game layout and consult your input bindings if needed. Treat the firearm’s offered mounting choices as the practical check; category labels alone do not establish that a named part fits a named gun.
Field advice - 03Step 3
Rehearse the intended role in Solo
Solo lets you practise without permadeath or traditional progression. Try the shooting style you intend to use with your squad, and decide whether the attachment addresses your control problem before spending a live run on experimentation.
Official notes + field adviceS4 - 04Step 4
Keep the attachment decision inside the team plan
If no useful mounting choice is available for your firearm, keep moving with the active task instead of making an unsupported loot detour. Share a relevant find with a teammate and reassess it when the team changes weapons or roles.
Field advice
Brief 01
Laser or brake: choose by the shot you actually take
A laser addresses hip-fire spread; a brake addresses recoil. If you mostly aim before firing and struggle to place the next shot, a brake is the more relevant category to consider. If your role involves frequent hip-fire, consider the laser. A compensator is the combined option with smaller stated benefits. This is a role-based choice, not a ranking of every compatible weapon.
Brief 02
An attachment complements ammunition discipline
Better handling does not supply ammunition. Use deliberate shots and communicate ammo needs before increasing the pace of fire. The official firearm design emphasizes aimed accuracy and ammunition choices; a laser’s hip-fire benefit gives you another tool without replacing those fundamentals.
Brief 03
Check fit during the run, then choose the job
The variants in the comparison are official family labels. Use them to narrow what to inspect, then check the actual gun’s available mounting choices. If your preferred family is unavailable, adapt your engagement: aim deliberately, shorten the distance when safe or let a teammate cover the role instead of assuming an attachment is mandatory.

Run checklist
- Name the shooting problem you want to solve.
- Check the current firearm’s offered mounting choices.
- Preserve ammunition for the active objective.
- Stay with the squad when scavenging.

FAQ / practical answers
Questions players ask before the next run
Which attachment should I choose first in NMRiH2?
Choose by your shooting problem: laser for hip-fire spread, brake for recoil, compensator for both in smaller amounts, and choke for medium-range shotgun use. Check fit on the firearm you are actually using before treating that preference as a loadout plan.S1
How do I find the attachment control?
Follow the attachment prompt in your current game layout and check input bindings when it is unclear. This keeps the instruction usable after remapping controls or changing input devices; the written 1.1 notes do not establish one universal key.S1
Which guns accept a Micro or Large laser?
Micro and Large are the official laser variants. Check the mounting choices offered by your current gun; those labels alone do not identify a complete gun-by-part compatibility table. Keep your preferred shooting role flexible if that option is unavailable.S1
Where should I look for attachments?
Inspect loot while following the active mission and communicate useful finds. The official preview describes shotgun chokes as discoverable during runs, but it does not establish guaranteed gun-shop, pawn-shop or airdrop spawns. Avoid splitting the squad for an assumed guaranteed location.S3
Does a choke guarantee one-shot shotgun kills?
No universal one-shot range follows from the official description. Its published benefit is improved medium-range lethality. Choose it for that purpose while still accounting for the target, ammunition, distance and your ability to place the shot.S1
